Warning: Possibly Disgusting Content
After a “kicking competition” in a karate school I used to go to, I had a horrendous flare of knee swelling and sudden pain, I went to the doctor. At this point I had NOT connected the two events.
So the doctor took a look at my knee and decided to stick a needle in it to suck the fluid out and reduce the swelling. Like an idiot I agreed.
A few minutes later, accompanied by a nurse, the doctor returned with the BIGGEST needle I had ever seen. And he stuck that bastard into me – yeah I screamed…
After what seemed like hours (maybe 20 seconds) of this crap, he pulled it back out again.
Result?
No fluid drain. Apparently it was too thick to suck out.
So I got a leg brace. And after a couple weeks the swelling went down and the pain was gone.
Now…how many runners or joggers get knee pain? Roughly ALL OF THEM…sooner or later?
A whole industry was spawned because of the joint pain running and lifting weights produces.
Crazy ole me – I say stop the freaken running and lifting, unless you really really like it.
